How Long to Book a Wedding Limo in Connecticut (and What Happens If the Day Runs Late)

Short answer: Most Connecticut couples book Absolute Transportation for one continuous 3–4 hour block. That covers the getting-ready pickup, the ceremony, photos and the arrival at the reception. If the day runs late, the booking simply extends by the hour, with your chauffeur already on site. Guests can ride in our Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans between the hotel, ceremony and reception, and for very large guest lists we also keep a luxury motor coach. Call (203) 938-0000 or see our Connecticut wedding limo page to start a quote.

How many hours should we book a wedding limo for?

For most weddings, 3–4 hours is the right starting block. Build it from your real timeline instead of guessing:

  1. Getting-ready pickup. Your chauffeur arrives early so dresses, bouquets and garment bags can be loaded without rushing.
  2. Ceremony arrival. Leave a buffer for traffic on I-95, I-91 or the Merritt and for parking at the venue.
  3. Photos. If photos happen at a second location (a park, the shoreline, a vineyard), count the drive there and back.
  4. Reception arrival. The block usually ends when the couple arrives at the reception.

Send us those times and addresses when you ask for a quote, and we'll tell you honestly how long a block your day actually needs.

What happens if the ceremony or photos run late?

Weddings run late all the time, which is why we recommend one continuous block rather than separate short rides. If photos or the ceremony go long, your booking extends hourly and your chauffeur stays with you. You don't need to rebook or wait for a new car to be sent.

When there's a long gap in the day (for example, a morning ceremony and an evening reception), a split booking can make more sense. Ask us and we'll lay out both options for your timeline.

How many vehicles do we need for our wedding?

A typical Absolute wedding plan looks like this:

Who's riding Good fit at Absolute
The couple Super stretch Lincoln limousine (white or black, up to 8) or a black Cadillac Escalade / Lincoln Aviator
Parents or a small family group Black SUV (Escalade, Suburban, Expedition; up to 6)
The bridal party Mercedes-Benz Sprinter or Ford Transit van (up to 13–14)
Guests between hotel, ceremony and reception Sprinter van shuttle loops, or our luxury motor coach for a large guest list
The getaway at the end of the night Limousine or executive sedan

Count everyone who rides, including the photographer and anyone carrying dresses or flowers. We confirm the exact vehicle, seating and availability when you book, and you can ask for photos of your vehicle.

Do you offer wedding guest shuttles?

Yes. Absolute runs guest shuttles in Mercedes-Benz Sprinter vans between hotels, the ceremony and the reception, and we keep a luxury motor coach for bigger guest counts. A shuttle keeps guests on time, cuts down on parking at the venue, and means nobody has to drive home after the reception. Tell us your guest count, the hotel and the venue addresses, and we'll suggest how many loops or vehicles you need.

Can you handle out-of-town guests and the honeymoon airport ride?

Yes. We pick up arriving guests and take couples to their honeymoon flight at JFK, LaGuardia, Newark, Bradley, Tweed-New Haven, Westchester, Boston Logan and Stewart, and we track flights in real time so a delayed landing doesn't leave anyone waiting at the curb.

Do you cover weddings in New York and across the Northeast?

Yes. Absolute is based in North Haven, CT, has held an NYC TLC license since about 2009, and operates under USDOT 1567094. We drive weddings across Connecticut, at New York City and Westchester venues, and around New England.

How much is a wedding limo in Connecticut?

We don't post one flat price, because every wedding day is different. Your quote depends on the date and season, the number of hours, which vehicles you choose, and how many stops and venues are involved. Tolls are included in Absolute quotes, and gratuity is applied. Call (203) 938-0000 with your timeline for a clear quote.

How far ahead should we book?

As soon as your date and venues are set. Spring through fall weekends are the busiest time for wedding transportation in Connecticut, and the larger vehicles go first.
